After seeing your planting, I suggest that in the future you plan for wider spacing to improve air circulation.

I would prune to improve air flow in this case. You might also want to spray the plants in rotation with neem and a soap mix for mites and Daconil for the fungus.

Here is a product that is relatively "safe" that I use on Tomato Russet Mites:

Thanks for your responses. Will captan work? That's what I've got to hand...

Captan is a fungicide only. It won't kill the mites but may help control the Early Blight. Strip off all those affected leaves and dispose of them away from the plants.

This is one of those situations where the attempted cure is worse than the problem in the first place. :)

The mites alone don't do much damage and can be controlled with any horticultural oil spray. But the constantly wet leaves, pressure damaged stem, and over-watered soil have created new, more serious problems for you.

Next year I'd suggest only 2 plants in that small space and spaced far out away from the wall as possible as well as some substantial mulching of that soil all around the plants.

For this year about all you can do is strip off affected leaves as they develop, avoid any further damage to the stems, and spray fungicides weekly.

Good luck.
