I have a 3' tall railing and 6' tall arbor on our patio. I'm looking for ideas on what could grow in containers that would cover the arbor (not hide, but make beautiful) and wouldn't require additional supports (wires, vertical trellis)? The arbor is on the west side of our house and gets full sun in the later afternoon. I planted a grape before I had any idea about the kind of training they need ... so will be moving that. I would love it if this plant had fruit for humans or birds, or otherwise attracted wildlife. Only flower requirement is no pink!
