Large scale vermiculture

Does anyone have experience with winrows or large continuous flow systems. What kind of a setup would it take to produce 8 to 12 tons of castings in a few months. We have a pile of mulch 3 or 4 years old that is densly populated with redworms so we are debating whether to spread it into rows and add material or dump it in some continuous flow type boxes which could be placed in an unheated large metal building if necessary. Thanks!

Your questions cannot be reliably answered in a paragraph or two, and require a greater knowledge of your feedstock, proposed operation, goals and budget than are provided here. Both windrows and flow-through systems would certainly work, but which to choose would depend on a more thorough discussion of the above topics, which, to be candid, is the kind of duscussion for which consultants are usually paid... ::grin::
