We live in a 90-year-old log cabin shaded by a stand of tall old Douglas firs. The tradeoff for keeping us cool in the summer is that they bury us in short needles and pine cones all year long. I've just discovered the idea of lasagne gardening, so I'm going to start making use of the deluge of tree bits in that way, but I wondered if any of it should go into my worm bin. I haven't put any in before now because I thought it would be too acidic, but a search of the composting forums here quickly debunked that myth. Are there any other considerations besides pH for pine needles/cones in worm bins?
