Ok! I give up. We have some vines on our property that run up the trees to over fifty or sixty feet high. The diameter of the mature (?) vine is about two and one half inches. The one near my driveway has several vines going up one tree and I canâÂÂt recall ever having seen flowers or fruit on it. I cut one vine at the base last winter and now it is sending out shoots with leaves that measure about 8 or 9 inches by 7 or 8.
I canâÂÂt find it in any of the flower or tree or shrub books I have. WeâÂÂve been here twenty five years and IâÂÂd really like to know what this thing is. Maybe if I climbed up one IâÂÂd find a giant living there? (Oops! No that was JackâÂÂs bean stalk wasnâÂÂt it.)
Scanned picture of a leaf is at http://heywood.home.mchsi.com (Now IâÂÂve screwed up the positioning of the web site with that danged leaf, IâÂÂll need to fix it after you folks look at the leaf below Heywood.)
Someone out there should be able to tell me what it is?
