boston ivy on siding- dangerous?

hey

I own a 100+ year old wood frame house with aluminum siding, (three stories) and I would like to let a vine grow on my entire west facing wall. I have done some reading in order to find which plant to use but I have not been able to figure out the dangerous of letting a boston ivy grow on my aluminum siding. Does anyone have any solind information?
