It is hardy in your zone and really does seem to need a lot of sun to make the full compliment of flowers it is capable of. If you are able to get it to do well, publish a photo.

I'm in Maryland, and planted one late last fall. It was only about 2 feet tall when I planted it, and I neglected to put a trellis for it to climb until this spring. It is now about 7 feet high, and bloomed this spring! I have really enjoyed this vine so far. I'm glad I chose the Bignonia Capreolata over the Campsis Radicans, which take several years to produce a bloom. Enjoy! Christy
