Greetings. I have had my worm bin running for ~ 3 months. I bought The Wriggly Wranch that came with the brick of bedding (coconut husks). Since then, I have not added anything but pureed food scraps (I put all food scraps in a food processor). The bedding has become quite compact. I have "lost" about 1/2 the volume. Should I be adding bedding (i.e. shredded newspaper) to my bin every once in a while or is it supposed to get packed down?

If I do need to add bedding, how often? Should I mix it in with the current bed, or should I just layer it on top of the old?
