Tomatoes in the weed patch!

Yesterday I discovered about a twenty big, beautiful healthy tomato plants in my weed patch! They must be from the remains of last year's harvest - I wasn't planning to grow anything in that garden this year, but now I can't resist. Since I don't have any other tomato plants this year, boo hoo, I was sad about that. Seems nature is having it's way with me now!

The plants are about 12 to 18" tall and leafy. A few have long stems with healthy leaves at their tops, some have healthy leaves all along the stems. They are mainly healthy clumps of plants, way too close together, so some of them should be transplanted now. MY QUESTION: Should I bury the long, leafless stems to the first set of leaves, or should I plant them at their current depths?

Thanks a million!
