I use RM bins for VC holding containers. Lined the sides with corrugated cb. Filled max. 80% and cover with ca. 4 layers of newspaper and spritz the top. Then put the lid on loosely. Check every 2 weeks or so and fluff. If I find it still too wet, I used rolled up corr. cb and place them throughout the container, chimney like.

I store/age my vermicompost in plastic totes, garbage cans and such. This photo shows VC stored in a tote for 16 months with NO maintenance. It had a loose lid and was covered with 2 tarps.

So. What are we seeing ? Is it full of worms ?

I have 3 lunch bags of dry VC sitting on a dining table.
I think I read somewhere the cocoons will hatch when the circumstances invite.
The VC was bagged in July.

Barbara this is the first time I have pulled the tarp back in 12 months. Some worms were still in the casts.
Castings were harvested in early summer of 2013. Harvest was by removing the bedrun and digging out under. I put it in an old plastic PU bed liner, de-clumped it with a rake, and dried it a few months. It still had some worms in it when I put it in totes, put the 12 totes back in the bed liner and covered with 2 tarps.
