Fran, what a beauty!I have ones similar, but not exactly. Now that's something nice to see first thing in the AM. :) Arum

Nice flower Fran!! Definitely a Japanese variety...

Arum, OMG what a surprise it was to see first thing in the morning. Strange buds too. If you look to the right of the flower, you will see a bud that looks like it has gone by. that is the new bud that will open the next day. It part opens the day before with all this ruffly dark, bright pink color.

Didn't get the pic of the new flower open, it was raining then too. Go figure. There are more buds to open in the next several days.

Ronnie, sure is a japanese one and I'll be crying real hard if I don't get any seeds of this one.

Sent a pic of the bloom to the trader who sent me the seeds. She said another name for it is "hanbuki" but wasn't sure of the spelling. I checked for hanahabuki and the pics I saw are similar to this one but really the same.

Anyway, it is a keeper with plenty of room on my fence for her next year. There just better be lots of seeds to plant.

Fran

Fran, I found this page that has a lot of pics of JMG for ID info that might help. Flower Shower is listed, Japanese name HANAFUBUKI and it's a pink blizzard like yours. Nice MG! :-)
