Aeration in a bed is a balancing act with moisture content. As long as the bed doesn't dry out to much I would not think so. Possible to have more than you need though. Does it seem to be causing a problem?

Too much air..not a problem for any of us air breathers.
Air drying things out in a bin..a problem for the worms who need the moisture.

I have a homemade wooden bin, i got the design plans from a vermicomposting website.....i live in hawai'i and i used shredded computer paper for my bedding. I know it doesn't hold moisture as well as some of the other materials, is that my problem? What about newspaper?

Some tricks for keeping bedding moist. Keep a sheet of cardboard over the top of the bedding to help keep the top of the bedding moist. Heck, you could even line the bottom and sides of the bin with cardboard. (tip, worms really like corrigated cardboard. The glue has protiens in it that the microbes eat and then the worms come along and eat the microbes.) If you can mix a little of another type of bedding in with the paper, you may have better luck. Paper bedding often clumps into balls I've noticed. Some riped up cardboard can really help keep things fluffy. Cardboard is easier to rip up if it is wet.

Wood breathes, so wooden bins tend to dry out more easily. Just spritz the bedding with water as needed.
