I am new at vermicomposting and as I am working in the catering industry I have access to a lot of peeling and other leftover from the making of food. At the moment I have been able to bring back home more than 200Lb of peeling and other things . Most of it went straight to the composter but a part has been kept and ground .

Now the question:

I noticed in the forum someone using cold water bottle to regulate the temperature of the bin. my idea would be making small flat pouches of food , freeze em and use em straight out of the freezer to the vormery. it would cool down and when defrosted feed the worms.

I can see one problem at doin this: defrosting vegetable would produce an eccess of water of water not totally welcome in the bin. I could try to feed the worms only fron the side so the water would trickle down straight to the drain... but you never know, I don t really want the bin to turn into a worm swimming pool.
