No it is not even close. The casting have real value but the public doesn't know it. Only the people that have and use them regularly know their real value, and they already have them because they are raising worms so they would not buy them. 1 lb of worms would depend on how big the worms are. Bedrun containing all sizes of worms from tiny to big ones might contain more than 1 thousand but not much more I don't think. You can do a google search for worm castings for sale and find all kinds of prices on castings.

yes, a cubic yard of castings could be worth a bundle, but you might spend double it's value trying to find someone who'd pay big money for them .... also you'd spend half a life time collecting a yard of castings unless you have a very large operation, considering the volume will continue to decrease over time

there may be 1000 or 2500 or 5000 worms to a pound, but a pound would take up way more than a quart, not a fraction of it

You could always try counting out a pile of worms and see how much they weigh. I understand and lb of worms actually looks like a rather small pile.

I've heard the estimate of 1000 fishing size red worms being about a pound, the smaller the worms the larger the number needed to make that pound.
