I have a surprisingly successful moonflower crop this year. Surprising because I planted them 4 in a big pot, which I quickly realized was at least 2 too many. Soon their roots encompassed the entire pot and I couldn't transplant because they were attached to a trellis. Then the leaves started dropping, and by the beginning of August there was no sign of a bloom, I was going to give them to mid-Aug and then toss them.
well, am I glad I didn't. By early September there were blooms galore. All the lower leaves are gone, but I've never had so many blooms.
Maybe they like to be rootbound.
