Are these beetles or cockroaches?!?!

I've been finding these little buggers all over my worm bin, and some of them are even getting into my apartment. They are brownish-black in color, winged, and are approximately 2-3 millimeters in length.

Please tell me they are some kind of beetle and not cockroach babies--I really don't want to have to dump out my bin. Thanks!

A cab driver once told me that if you don't like having cockroaches, just start calling them palmetto bugs.

Absolutely not cockroaches; I hope you didn't toss your worms basex o what nivek said.

I don't know which beetle it is right off the bat. I'll look around for you ...some beetles can be more of a problem than cockroaches.

Is the smaller of the images actual size? If so, RUN!!!!!!!!!

Actually, if it ain't an ant, or worm-eating cannibal, I just call them all critters and try to keep them to a minimum.

Main way to keep critters to a minimum: Feed the wormies only as they eat the food. Don't just pile it in there.
