My coccinea vines were started from seed over the summer and are still quite small so I couldn't tell you about it's growth habit. I do have P. vitifolia which is another red that grows like a maniac. It might not be easy to keep a vine under 10' but you could keep it growing in a 6-10' space by moving the vine in a direction that you want it to grow. Say you have a 10' section of fence. You could keep it within that area. I wouldn't prune much during the growing season because you sacrifice blooms. I'm sure you can find someone that grows it on the passiflora forum.
