Sherry, Maybe they were too cold which would slow down the activity. I think that you can improve their color if you feed them with vegetable peels, especially things with reddish colors like beets, grape skins, carrots, and some brown coffee grinds. it's just my own theory but I did this and our little herd is bright in color, hard to find a pale one anymore. I hope that they live!

I'm betting they are just starved to death. Give them a nice slice of cantelope rind or a pile of horse manure and they'll be good to go

I attributed it to the cold when I first saw them. I checked on them the next morning and any on top wriggled down. There was food in the bin....red potato peelings, pumpkin, coffee grounds etc. So I expect them to be fine.

I should have tied a little piece of yarn to their tail so I could find them easily!! lol Funny thing, there were some worms on the sides which doesn't happen often. Maybe it was them singing the praises of being warm and fed!!
