Just spent the day cleaning out the garage, and found an old dog kennel (plastic) behind some other stuff. Since it is designed for good ventilation for the dogs, I think it would make a wonderful worm bin. However, since it is a BIG kennel, I think I may keep it outside and use it as my overflow compost bin for any excess kitchen scraps until I get my worm population large enough to handle everything. 2 adults and 2 boys generate a fair amount of stuff. Right now the worms are able to handle about 20% of our kitchen scraps.

Anyway, just an idea - I know I see dog kennels at garage sales all the time.
