Rooting A Chalice Vine

How do I root cuttings off a chalice vine? my huge old plant has been torn up by Katrina and it was crushed by falling tree limbs to. I have no idea how to root the cuttings of this plant. I am told it is easy. But how? In water, soil, tip cuttings, hardwood, greenwood? I don't know. I THINK I rooted 1 piece once in like 2 weeks in soil...i just stuck a pice in the ground and it took and i gave it away. But that was years ago. So..any advise would be a great help. This is the Golden Chalice Vine. I have a tiny piece of a varigated type to..but it never grew to any length..this one bloomed every early fall for the past 10 years, and now I think I better take cuttings before the plant dies from shock. It is looking really ragged. and a huge rootball came up when the plant tipped over...so I want to save it before it is gone.
