Trellis out of bamboo??

I am seriously thinking about making my own trellis for this coming spring. I have some pretty good bamboo that I think would work. I was thinking maybe some reed grass also and maybe some weeping willow limbs. Though this is my first "real" thought on it all.

Has anyone ever done this?? If so what did you use and how did you set it up??

I was told in a gardening workshop one summer to wait until after Labor Day to cut bamboo so cutting it now should be just fine. Late enough now & your zone is also colder than mine. The presenter said that bamboo will rot if cut while it's green and growing and to wait until itÃ¢ÂÂs dormant after Labor Day. That's all I know about making a bamboo trellis!
