I brought mine in a couple weeks ago, and they are doing well so far. I love vines growing all over my sunroom. I was wondering... Are they vines that only live a year or so, or will they live as long as they are healthy etc???

hi! I live in zone9 florida and I usually replace them every year. They grow well all through the season but start looking a little ratty about December or so. I believe they are annuals so that would make sense. Good luck keeping them going, I hope it works!

Sweet potato "Ipomoea batatas" are perennials...the sweet potato root can be overwintered if kept on the dry side,but not allowed to dry out too much...the root will resprout when temperature and lighting are other seasonal clues initiate the new growth...

All parts of the ornamental Sweet potatoes are edible except the seeds...the leaves are often used in fritters and raw in salads...the root is very edible,although ranks low in the seeetness category...
