Centipedes are one creature you don't want inhabiting your worm bin. They are predators of worms, from what I understand. Most other creatures live happily side by side and help with the whole composting system. e.g. mites, sprintails, sow bugs. Centipedes are a whole other matter.

Make sure they are centipedes. Could they be millipedes? Millipedes are okay.
This is from Worms Eat My Garbage: "You can tell a centipede from a millipede in two ways by looking carefully at their bodies. Centipedes are flattened and have only one pair of legs per segment. Millipedes are cylindrical and have two pairs of legs on each abdominal segment."

Yes, they are centipedes. I found four of them in my drip tray. I don't know how many are in the bin.

In an effort to increase the biological diversity in my bin, I have added organic matter that I have picked up off the ground. It looks like I succeeded.
