This is my first year ever growing an Heirloom tomato- Mr. Stripey is the strain ... Anyways all my hybrids already have good size tomatoes on them with many Flowers. -
The Mr. Stripey has many huge Yellow Flowers yet they are not becoming Tomatoes. I understand how open-pollination works, actually it quite simple however is there a way I can increase the yeild???
I have heard that you can gently shake the plant too allow the pollen to release - Is this viable info? also is their anything else i can do to help set the fruit.
The climate i live is is Zone 6a... its summer-time now and the weather is in the Mid-80's everyday with the nights around mid 60's. So blossom drop shouldnt be a problem ( due to Temp ).
Also i have stopped adding Nitrogen -
Any usefull information would be great appreciated --
-thank Rick Cef
