identification of worms

I am getting ready to order worms. I hear alot about red wrigglers. Are red wrigglers the ones that are lightly striped and yellow stinky ooze comes out of them when you put them on a fish hook. They kinda gross me out, and I prefer the ones I dig up in my garden, however in this case I want what ever is best for composting. Where can I find good pictures, or how to tell what type of worm I'm dealing with. Thanks

I don't know about the yellow ooze, as I have never eviscerated any of my Red Wigglers. However, they are lightly striped and sometimes have an almost yellow cast to them. There are lots of pictures online of Red Wigglers that should help you identify the ones you want.

Tahnks, I looked up pictures and those are the ones, I'll just use the ones from my garden for fishing so I dont have to smell the ooze!
