I've been growing tomatoes for several years in this spot, and never had any pest problems. But this year I noticed somthing was chewing the hell out of the bottom leaves of my tomato plants. At first I couldn't find the culprits only the frass left behind. But it was while flicking one of these off a leaf I noticed it was actually a green insect with frass held securely on its back as a disguise! I instantly examined the frass on all my leaves and found no less than 14 of these leaf green flat insects each carrying thier own poo on their back as a disguise.
Ive consulted the internet and the common tomato pests listed by the forum but can't find any mention of the little buggers. Has anyone had any experience with these or even heard of them? And if so how have you handled them?
Thanks in Advance!
