Hi I dont know which solandra it is but was wondering, does it smell good at night, like coconuts? There are several varieties of solandra but they say some are more fragrant than others. I tried looking online for which are most fragrant but there is conficting info out there. One site says S. guttata is most fragrant, others say S grandiflora variegated is. Other sites say there is little difference in intensity of fragrance. So i'm curious how does your rate? Thanks

No real scent at all, at least nothing discernable over the nearly overpowering Brugmansia and macadamia trees over the bank!

No scent? Maybe its one of the scentless varieties or maybe the season is not right for the scent right now. They are supposed to be fragrant at night.

Ok, shoving my nose right into the flowers, there is a deffinite coconut smell. Actually, a slightly fermented coconut smell, like that coconut liquer which I have forgotten the name of. I don't have a good sense of smell, possibly it is reasonably strong, but certainly not overly strong like Vigna caracalla, whcih is odourous to the point of nausea at times.
