If you are going to continue to use it to hot compost the worms will probably leave. If you are through hot composting that bin I would throw in a couple of hand fulls and see what happens. I have read several posts that say the worms love the stuff, and if they love it that means they will turn it into vermi gold.

never mind adding worms to a hot compost pile, you'd have a hard job to keep them out - I've never added worms to my continuous hot bins, but they're always there, at the bottom when I turn out a full bin, and in the corners - I also regularly use compost from the hot bins once it's past the high-temp phase to top up the worm bin

remember [or note] that worms are actually omnivores, even carnivores, and their real food is the microbial life causing the decompostion of organic materials - they'll jump on the compost faster than "fresh" veg waste because they don't hafta wait for the the compost to become microbially active, it's already teeming with bacteria, yeast, and fungi

I regularly take worms out of my compost bin and add them to my worm factory. My compost heap never really reached a high temperature but it sure got infested with worms. Now I put my finer garbage in teh wormfactory and anything I think will take a while to break down I put in the outside compost bin.

Guides that I've seen for commercial vermicompost operations suggest that this sort of material is less nutritious than fresh material, as it's been partially digested, but that it will be processed quickly by worms. Hot composting is great for breaking down stuff that would take them a long time, and it may also be used to kill weed seeds and pre-process yard waste.

Be careful taking worms out to add to established indoor bins- you may get a mix of worm types, and eventually the balance may shift towards a different worm than what you started with.
