I'm still sorta new at vermiculture but my guess would be that it is ok. Since I'm not sure I would put some in a corner and see if the worms go to it or not. I don't think that you could harm them this way since they could always go to another spot in the bin

any organic material is fine for worms, and the dregs from any fermentation process will be particularly attractive because of the microorganisms present, which is the real food worms are after

I have a friend who owns a brewery and distillery in Flagstaff, Arizona. He makes both beer and prickly pear (cactus) vodka. I was asking him what he does with his left over mash. He said he was giving it free to cattle ranches where they fed it to cattle, but that he would give it to me if I wanted it. He has six 50 gallon drums each time he brews. I was considering ideas for a commercial windrow but I want to try a 5 gallon sample to see how the worms like it. I am afraid they might get drunk and fall asleep. Perhaps it might lower their sexual inhibitions and they would breed more. What do you think?

the waste from making beer is excellent for verm and pile composting. i have used it with much success...

even more intersting is using it as a substrate for growing mushrooms. not only can you grow delicious gourmet mushrooms but when the substrate is done being used it is no longer a LOW grade feed supply. the growing process has converted the sugars and it is now a HIGH grade feed!!!

I'll add my agreement here. The dregs from a fermentation vat are usually excellent for all sorts of composting, both hot bin and worm bin.

The only things you might want to be careful of are water content and C/N balance. Vat-leavings are likely to be extremely wet, and they're also very high in nitrogen due to all the protein in the yeast. That combination will lead to very nasty anaerobic conditions if you aren't careful. So my advice would be to mix the dregs thoroughly with some sort of absorbent dry brown. Sawdust, coconut fiber, or shredded paper should do well.
