Agree.
The trick is to know how much water (by way of spray) is needed. Using a spray bottle for a small FT is do-able. Some people with multiple or bigger bins invested in a garden sprayer (1 gal.) with pump.
I have a 2' x 4' FT outside and I use the mist setting of the garden hose nozzle. Even using the mist setting, it is adviseable to just do one pass and repeat some time later or the water will flow down too fast.
I cover the top with 4 layers of burlap and this way I don't need to do the "rinse and repeat" routine. Once I get the burlap soaked, that's it.
Please note that the burlap I use are coffee bean bags, nice thick material. Burlap that I bought at the store (in sheets) are sooo thin and won't do for worm farming, will be gone in no time.
Worms like to hang out between the sheets and leave 99% castings. It's a wet place that they prefer with lots of oxygen sans drowning.
