There are many broadleaf 'weeds' and often they grow because the soil is more conducive to that 'weed' that to the grass that is desireable. The first step in 'weed' control is to be sure the soil is on good condition, pH in range for what should be growing there, nutrients in balance, drainage good, sufficient levels of organic matter.
Spraying 'something' to control any 'weed' can be a waste of time, energy, and money if the conditions that promote that 'weed' growth are not corrected. Most often correcting the soil conditions eliminates the 'weed' with no further effort.
