Bun Bun showed up in our yard this March. I am guessing she was maybe about 4 weeks old. We were doing some construction, so we had some palettes of stone from construction that she lived under. She was really friendly, and ate all my sunflowers I had grown from seed. I though maybe she was sick because she was so friendly. After about a week, with me watering and her sitting in my flats of flowers where I would almost have to touch her with the watering wand to get her to move, I decided to try and feed her a carrot. (Although I initially thought she might be sick, I noticed that she was very fast, and would run when a hawk flew over, eat normally, etc, she just wasn't afraid of me) So the first time I tried to feed her, she ate the carrot right from my hand. I was thrilled, it was such a neat experience. We named her Bun Bun as a joke, and I would call her that when I fed her, and click my tounge. Well she became very familiar with me, my husband, and my neighbors. We all called her Bun Bun. In fact, she could be in the neighbor's yard and I would call "BunBun" and she would come running right over to me...her carrot machine. In the morning when my husband would get up, she would hear him in the kichen and come around looking for the carrot machine. (We always had a limit of feeding her only 2 baby carrots or the equivelent a day, although carrots were her favorite) After about 2 months, she moved from under the palette of stone to the top of our hill and we started seeing less of her. There was another rabbit that moved in near us, and we saw both of them most days. Then she came around every other day, then about every three days, and then a week went by and at the end of July, I saw her in front yard, in our courtyard, but that was the last time we saw her. I guess she grew up and moved away. We sure did enjoy having her around and feel lucky to have known her. Enjoy the photo's of our little Bun Bun.
