Hi,

I recently moved into a new house and the garden is dominated by this rotten weed. It seems to spread through it's roots, and has shoots popping up all over my garden. The photo shows the germinating shoots. The roots are quite big and thick, and very extensive. I believe the adult form (which I hacked back last autumn) sends out creepers along the ground.

It would be great to know what it is! If anyone can help I'd be greatly appreciative.
