Weed? Please help ID

Moved into my new house last year, put some annuals in the garden and within a few weeks these guys completely took over...they are just starting to come back again...this pic is from last year when they were in full swing. Please help me ID them and any suggestions for killing them would be extremely helpful (totally new to gardening). Thank you.

Could this be BURDOCK? Google the word. It has medicinal properties in the root, but oh man, burdock roots are huge and go very deep. Digging this out, you will want that medicine for your aching back.

Another possibility is Coltsfoot. Tussilago farfara. Did you notice dandelion like flowers very early in the spring? The link shows both.
