Hello!

We moved into a new house (in a new state - Iowa!) this past winter. Hence we inherited a new lawn. I have what I suspect to be quack grass but I'd like a confirmation from someone more knoweledgeable then me.

If it is quack grass or if you know what it actually is, please give me suggestions on how to get rid of it. I spent two afternoons trying to weed it but it is very difficult to get the roots out and the ground was not that dry. I will spray chemicals but would prefer other safer methods. Since it is in our front lawn near the street (away from the kids playaread) I may consider chemicals if that is my best bet.
