I have a ground cover/invasive weed that I need help with identifying.

I don't have any photos but it's got these weird clusters of green spikes, that, when dry, turn brown, twist into psychotic little spirals and latch hold of my dogs tail when they walk by.

Any thoughts?

I can easily go look up a photo myself. I've tried googling all forms of spiral twist weed invasive, etc to no avail. I figured that REAL people might be a better solution this time around.
