Weed torches are a terrific method to get rid of weeds. They are not intended to impact the soil at all, but to sizzle or incinerate the foliage of the plants. Be careful around dry wood mulch or pine straw...use common sense.

These don't kill deep rooted perennial weeds right away, but can sure put a hurtin on them over a period of time. Annual weeds can be sizzled right out of their socks first time out.

Read and follow the directions on the unit that you purchase. Remember, you are not trying to make a furnace of the soil....just to broil the leaves of your weeds.

Thanks for the reply Rhizo. I'll post in the tool shed forum for info on buying one - what features to look for and like that. Got to get a handle on all these weeds before I have even MORE!

MDK my understanding is that a weed burner will work with Dandelions but it may take two or three *hits* to entirely eliminate them.
