I live on the edge of some woods, and am plagued by burdocks in a section that's not mow-able because of some stumps. I'd like any feedback on my 2011 warfare plan - it's either brilliant or moronic.

I have a huge (40x10x10 or so) pile of brush, sticks, and chunks from a bunch of cedars we cut down last weekend (all but the trunks). There is one more clump to go, so I'm well stocked on cedar debris, to put it mildly. I'm considering cutting them, covering with a few layers of cardboard, and burying with the cedar debris. It can stay there several years - the area is ultimately on my very long gardening list, but not til the very end. It's not visible from the house, or even most of the yard.
