Any seed bearing plants - I assume these are house finches? Try Rudbeckia, Coreopsis, Helianthus...

Several house finches had a great time today in my garden gathering dog hair as nesting material. I leave the hair lying around after brushing the dog. It was pretty funny to see these little birds hopping around picking up the hair until they had huge wads of it in their bills.

they also love thistle.

Coneflower, etc., will not bloom the first year from seed. If you start with plants you'll get flowers the first season.

If you plant prairie forbs, plant some native grasses along with them. Birds love those seeds too.

For a sunny but moist area, you could plant shrub holly.
