I first thought it was wild violets but they don't flower. And the roots look a little different from other wild violets we have. They are definitely easier to pull than violets. It's very fast spreading and taking over a little area (wet/shady area).

What's the best way to get rid of it and turn into a flower bed? I am open lasagna/newpaper smother method, etc. No weedkillers though.
