I have a house on a creek, It came with willows so thick it took a machete to make it to the creek the first time. I like them and have used them as great cover from the neighbors, instead of planting something else to do this.

However some areas are out of control. They grow just like weeds, 15 foot tall weeds. Eventually I want to do some selective thinning of areas. Right now I want remove some areas of willows, like where they have covered up most of a window. Also want to kill of some, like the ones sprouting up through my driveway.

I would appreciate info on how to remove large sections of willows and how to kill off the small individuals growing in the driveway.
