It's definitely not PI. I'll be watching this too, saw these all over state park in FL recently, also curious. Could you add a closer pic of a flower?

It some kind of weed called Spanish Needle.

It does look a lot like a wild flower known as Spanish Needle.

If the plant in question is the same one I saw, it has white flowers with 4 petals. They're not easy to see in the pic above.

Ooops, pics are so much better than memory - not 4 petals, but that's the same plant I was wondering about. Somebody should recognize it, I see them every summer. Nice pic of it!

Poison ivy has:
- alternate leaves
- three leaflets per compound leaf (never more than three)

So any time you see opposite leaves, you can be confident it's not PI.

Thanks tulsarose. It is a pretty weed with a bite (covered with tiny needles). :) And according to this link, butterflies love it.
