Creeping Buttercup?

I have this weed as well - don't know what it is - except it's not Rose of Sharon or Mums. I also have both of those to compare to the weed. How tall does Creeping Buttercup get? This weed in my yard gets 12" or taller.

It seems to be mugwort or a close relative. The leaves are edible and and so are the stems when they are tender. It's one of the few weeds my resident groundhog likes to munch on.

I agree with other member that it is mugwart. I have had a lot of it in my zone 5 lawn and vegie garden. I tried organic weed control product but it did not work. Hand weeding each weed was not practical for the large amount I had. Sadly, I resorted to Roundup and Weed Be Gone. A combination of weed killer and frequent weeding (trying to get the underground runners) have worked well.

I have grass weeds that crawl under the much and pop up in my flower and perrinial beds. When I go to pull them they are vine-like and make a terrible mess out of the nice mulch that I have placed there. I am afraid to use the weed killers as I am not convinced that they won't kill other (good) things, and ideas?
