Are the deer increasing in your area Maifleur? I like to see one once in a while but hoping they won't get over populated here. We had that record breaking ice storm here in SW Missouri that downed a lot of trees and left nearly all the others shorter than they used to be. Then that weird late freeze around Easter kept a lot of plants from fruiting/setting seed. No berries on my flowering dogwood or gray dogwoods this year, etc. It's an unusual year for us.

We have a wooded area accross the street. I have seen a bunch of deer in one area of about 20. Although we live in the city the woods are hunted in the fall through the conservation department. Where I work we see deer and turkey's from our windows along with the buzzards that live ON the roof of our building. We see the other ones also.

The person that was talking about the deer had never had them attack his plants at this time of the year. He may have some damage in January and February when things are scarce.

I allow Giant Foxtail to grow in one spot in my yard. By now the seeds have normally filled out but if you look past the spines?? there is just a nub where the seed should be.

The early warmth and the hard freezed damaged the tips of many plants.
