I live in an apt. complex in a country setting and have a small garden. I have had Flowers, tomatoes and beans etc. at different times with no problems.

This year I think I over fertilized the garden and added too much water holding soil. I had no time to retest the soil and was aways for several weeks.

I came back to beautiful garden of green weeds and just noticed the tall plants are ragweed (green buds at the top appeared). I took 5 folded garden chairs to flatten the weeds, then put tarp over the flattened weeds with the chairs on top of the tarp to hold the tarp in place.

Will this kill the ragweed before the frost? Will ragweed seeds develope under the tarp and chair? Am very allergic to ragweed! Dare I open the garden and pull the weeds out by hand?

Any help is appreciated!
