Trimming weeds just gets them excited;
you gotta get the roots out of there.

The first photo looks like nut sedge or nut grass or something similar.

The only way to get rid of that stuff is to dig it out, carefully, doing your best to get the entire plant, every bit of root, etc.

The other pictures look like some wild or prairie grasses;
again, they need to be removed roots & all.

On tenderer weeds, I like to use vinegar to burn the top growth & then rake or pull the weeds out after the roots have shrunken a bit & let go their grip on the soil, but those grassy things look tough!

I think you can use a variation of that method, though:

If you turn up the soil with a garden fork one day, you can go back the next day & shake the soil off the shrunken roots & toss the weeds.

It looks like the grass from your yard. Try letting a small area of your grass grow without cutting and I think you will see a similarity.

I was thinking the same thing: it looks like regular ol' lawn grass to me.

We recently seeded an area and have grass cropping up in a bed near the newly seeded area. In addition, we have a hilly lot and we have grass downhill from everywhere we ever planted it.

The nice thing is it actually pulls out of beds pretty easily, root and all. And I've had fair success transplanting the clump to bare spots in my yard gotta catch it before it gets a foot tall, though).

The bad part is that the little clumps are tenacious and get everywhere. Every time we have a good rain, new little seedlings are rearing their grassy heads.
