Bring me the shaker and pass the maters.

Ours plants are far from making some big enough to eat.

I lost a bunch in the April 7th freeze...sigh..I always plant on Presidents day, Feb 18th..willing to lose a few.But between those baby stinkbugs and the birds I have to pick at the first pink

Yummy I love maters and home grown is the bestest :)

You going to fry them green maters?

I did maters this year and some cherry maters are getting close to being ready to pick, I have lettuce, cucumbers and vinegar ready for a salad :)

I love the cherry maters, but I cannot eat a big one because the acid will make my mouth break out..sigh..does it with pineapple and some oranges too...

yummykaz, those look delicious. Buy an artificial snake and put him in your tomato patch to keep the birds out.

hey Dena! I am that way about tomatoes, beans,strawberries,peaches...they break my mouth all out...but if I make baked tomatoes with breadcrumbs and cheese...they don't bother me...

I wasn't going to plant tomatoes this year, but a friend of mine had started some brandywine pinks and had some nice size plants for us at our plant exchange. I took two and they are doing great. No fruit yet, but lots of flowers. They're real happy with all this rain. I can't wait to taste them.

I can hardly wait for some ripe tomatoes! My plan is to eat tomatoes until I'm sick of them so maybe I won't miss them as badly in the Fall and Winter. (Who am I kidding? I can't imagine ever getting sick of tomatoes. LOL)

Yummy! Mine are just still lil yella flowers. I have strawberries to tide me over so I'm happy. PJ

    You are so lucky!! YUM

I'm a bit new to tomatoes. I've grown them a few years but I'm pretty lazy about it. I just figure if they make it fine, if they don't fine. Do you try to cover them or anything when a freeze comes up? I would love to have tomatoes this early, even if I had to take extra pains. If you care to share your technique, maybe we could compare notes next year? I had mine already planted in the beginning of April. They didn't have too much damage from the freeze. But, I think my back yard is kind of a micro-climate. We're on the side of a hill and things are kind of sheltered due to the way the land and fence are situated. Also, I can never tell if it's disease or something else effecting the leaves.

As it stands, we have lots of little green maters. I'm just waiting for them to ripen! yummm

I tell ya who is lucky...........ME! I live next door to Yummy and she sent me a love offering of maters last week...and they were wonderful! Go ahead..be jealous. (She made pickles last nite too...and she shares!) And she sent over some blackberries the picked locally. Thank you Lord for wonderful neighbors! Yummy and I lucked out big time on having great neighbors all around us and up and down our street. HUGE blessing. (I am going to steal her youngest son...I love that kid.)
