Are these weeds or flowers?

I'm an absolute beginner when it comes to gardening. The house we live in now has a couple of flower beds which have become overgrown since all year I haven't been able to figure out which are the weeds and which are the flowers. Now that I've found this forum, I'm hoping you can help me figure things out. :-)
