It looks like Japanese stiltgrass, an annual invasive weed.
Microstegium.... would be much taller if not for the mower.

It is stiltgrass. I know it well and have removed it from my property but it's in the neighbor's lawn. I've weeded out lots of it from the grass.

aside from pulling by hand......any herbicide?..........thx

I have stiltgrass and had great success with using the premergent "Dimension" at the time one would lay down crabgrass control. So that would be in the spring sometime.

I don't think it is Japanese Stiltgrass, but if it is and you want to kill what's there now, the only thing I've found that works is Bayer Advanced Bermudagrass Control For Lawns. As kimpa already stated, use Dimension to prevent it from sprouting next spring/summer.

Since stiltgrass is an annual with not a giant root system, it pulls out fairly easily. See if you can get to the base of a plant and pull it. If you can hand pick them and have some shallow roots it is probably it.
