trying again for ID

I don't know if this is a weed or not; I tried the Name that Plant forum but folks didnt' agree on what it might be. If anyone here knows what it is I'd appreciate it. It's about 18 inches tall or so; i've had my eye on it for quite a while watching it grow from a seedling. didn't want to pull it up without knowing what it is. Thanks

I thought you decided it was Ageratina altissima.

If so, it's a native.
